Description of the position FHI 360 seeks qualified Moroccan candidates for the position of Chief Of Party (COP), to lead the USAID-funded Inclusive Socioeconomic Development Project in the Beni Mellal-Khénifra region.
ISED-BMK is a five-year project (2020 – 2025) helping Morocco achieve its national and local development priorities for accelerated and equitable economic growth built on greater inclusion and active participation of women, youth, people with disabilities and rural populations.
The goal and expected outcome is sustainable job creation generated by a more productive and dynamic private sector working with a more transparent and effective public sector and a more engaged and participatory citizenry. The COP will provide overall leadership to ensure effective project management, coordination, and oversight and ensure that activities and the work of sub-partners are coordinated and achieve intended results. The COP will be the key liaison with USAID, stakeholders, and other implementing partners.
Her/his primary responsibilities include providing overall leadership, management, and general technical direction of the entire project, ensuring an integrated vision among different components and actors, and a focus on achieving the results defined in the contract. The successful candidate will be expected to identify issues and risks related to project implementation in a timely manner and recommend appropriate strategies and adjustments to address them.
She/he will supervise activity implementation, ensure activities meet stated goals and that reporting requirements are met. The COP position requires good judgement and political sensitivity, as she/he will interact with numerous institutions and senior-level national and regional-level government officials.
The COP will have demonstrated ability to work in complex environments and manage diverse teams to deliver impact within agreed timelines.
